Listed also on Active.com, where on-line entry is available. Go to http://www.activeglobal.com.

The other events will be added and all the events will be added to other world wide listings. Further on-line registration could be available.

Permits issued for December Double Marathons, starting and finishing at the Carriage Cafe, as in 2011.

Staggered starts on Saturday Race Day. Start time range from 8.00am - 9.30am for Sunday non-competitive race.

Ilmington Marathon scheduled for Saturday July 21st, last week end before start of Olympics. This is an off road event, starting and finishing at the local Sports Club on Mickleton Road. 9.30 majority start, but anyone wishing to start from about 8.30 should be ok, as most check points are at Clubhouse.

This event comprises 3 different loops, with a short extra loop.

There is a loop to Blackwell, certainly the flattest. However, this loop becomes hilly as goes round Compton Scorpion. Also some private land will be used on this section, so special care required.

The longest loop to Mickleton, has a check point at Mickleton, and Hidcote Manor have been extremely co-operative concerning going through their land. Suggest some supporters may like to go and see the Gardens, particaularly anyone who is a National Trust member/cardholder. www.nationaltrust.org.uk/hidcote.

Other loop takes in Foxcote, where again the Estate have been really helpful. There are plans to allow entrants to do  only 2 or 3 loops if they wish.

Off Road Fun Runs to Marathons and Ultra Runs

Welcome to Broad Meadow Runs, mainly off road running events in Warwickshire and the West Midlands. These are both competitive and social events. 4 events planned for 2012, one of them, on the Saturday before the start of the London Olympics. Events are mainly around Stratford on Avon.

My name is Chris Seeney. Having completed 200 marathons, I am now concentrating on organizing events, mainly marathons in the Midlands, where there is a distinct shortage, particularly off road.

Broad Meadow Runs is affiliated to UK & England Athletics, Registration Ref: 7692178.

I do take matters of health and safety very seriously, and nothing pleases me more than to pay for First Aid cover, that was not needed. On the other hand, common sense in abundance is a necessity to take part in off road events.

All my events over marathon distance have an 8 HOURS CUT OFF.

All future marathons will be to printed instructions, unless otherwise stated. Direction markers will be the absolute minimum.

There are 3 up-coming events. There is an off road event planned for Saturday July 21st, starting & finishing at Ilmington Bowls Club. This is a marathon completely in the Cotswolds.

The December Double is going ahead. Much the same as 2011.                              

There will be the Saturday race on the 8th and a no-competitive run around on Sunday the 9th. The rutes will be the same more or less, but different way round and order of loops.
